Griddisk
service
has
been
added!
It's
just
like
gridftp,
except
better
-
except
worse
-
except
better.
It
allows
upload/download
to
the
same
directory
as
gridftp,
but
it
is
mounted
as
a
standard
9p
fs
which
often
works
better
than
the
ftpfs-ftp
system.
The
ftpfs
mount
still
exists
if
you
prefer
that
for
speed
reasons.
Thanks
kvik
for
organizing
the
big
pile
of
random
files
into
subdirectories
for
us!
During
the
summer,
Multics
was
on
the
grid!
Thanks
to
tkk
who
shared
his
multics
setup
into
a
hub
so
all
of
us
could
watch
each
other
try
to
learn
a
little
about
the
granddaddy
of
operating
systems.
Some
gridders
have
been
adding
services
to
the
public
registry!
There
has
bee
a
great
UFO
radio
station
online
starting
in
mid-February,
and
near
the
end
of
the
month,
someone
has
put
a
kinect
camera
online.
Check
/n/pubregistry/index
within
grid
namespace.
We
had
some
downtime
early
11
February,
not
sure
of
the
exact
cause,
but
the
gridroot
server
rebooted
itself.
Everything
should
be
running
again,
you
might
need
to
delete
old
/srv
files
to
reconnect
properly.
There
is
a
new
gridftp
service
and
updated
gridstart
script
to
go
with
it.
Gridftp
is
persistent
disk
storage,
and
files
placed
there
are
also
viewable
via
the
web
in
the
wiki.9gridchan.info/incoming
directory.
No
public
index
is
presented
though.
A
'cpl'
function
has
been
added
to
the
gridstart
script
which
uploads
to
gridftp
then
plumbs
the
weblink
to
the
file.
